About Us

Old Fig Farm is the realisation of a long held family dream to live in the country, farm regeneratively, incorporate lots of animals in positive ways and create amazing products.
We are located at Hannam Vale on the NSW Mid North Coast – approximately 3.5 hours drive north of Sydney.  Hannam Vale lies within a valley formed by the the three Brother mountains – giving it a unique lush, vibrant climate.
Farming regeneratively means that we incorporate clever management of animals and biodiversity and avoid chemicals so that we build super healthy soils and encourage life, nourishing animals and humans, sequestering carbon from the atmosphere, and making the land we are custodians of stronger and more resilient.

What We Farm

Our Animals

We have beef cattle, managed holistically. They are a herd of Simbrah (Simmental/Brahman), Fleckvieh and Herefords, chosen because of their suitability to our climate and as a superb beef breed.

In addition to the cattle we have horses, chickens and roosters, guinea fowls, dogs and cats.

Limes

We have an established lime orchard of 65 trees. With the idyllic climate for Tahitian limes, these fruit year round. The orchard is managed organically with no nasty chemicals used. Where possible we fertilise and mulch with on farm materials to further reduce carbon footprint of production.

We sell fresh limes, sliced dried limes, lime salt, lime honey mustard dressing and lime and lemon myrtle cordial.

Did you know?

  • Tahitian limes turn a pale yellow or even look like a lemon when ripe. At this time they are lowest In acidity, highest in juice and sweetness.
  • Limes can be frozen for later use
  • Limes are high in vitamin C and antioxidants
  • The health benefits of lime are due to its many nutritious elements like vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin A, vitamin E, folate, niacin thiamin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, phosphorus and protein. Lime also contains flavonoids, which are composites that contain antioxidant and cancer fighting properties. It helps prevent diabetes, constipation, high blood pressure, fever, indigestion, as well as improve the skin, hair, and teeth.

Accomodation

In addition to our 100 year old farm house, we have a renovated three bedroom cottage, the Dairy Bales, available to rent (Stayz & airbnb). The Dairy Bales is fully fenced off from stock, has a lovely rose garden and farm veggie garden, two queen bedrooms and one double bunk bedroom. The Dairy Bales has its own kitchen and bathroom. The Dairy Bales offers affordable and comfortable country accomodation with a real sense of history.

Why This Property?

Possibly accessing the best of everything with incredible beaches and lagoons only thirty minutes drive, easy access to Waitui falls and swimming hole, visit the historic Comboyne village and some of the stunning drives, Ellenborough falls, fabulous country towns like Wingham and Wauchope.
